Bike Farm wants YOU! Bike Farm is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are dedicated to the mission of sustainable living and promoting sustainable transportation options by providing a space for cyclists to repair or build bicycles. We are hoping to expand our hours and are looking for volunteer mechanics to pick-up shifts on days we're short of help. We're also looking for people to fill various coordinator positions within our organization. Descriptions: Mechanic volunteer: We are looking for people of all experience levels. Do you know your way around a bike and can do any adjustment no matter what the age or weirdness of the component is? Awesome! Is patching a flat tube the extent of your wrenching abilities? Just as awesome! We always have a core mechanic on staff during our business hours who is willing to help you gain proficiency in bike repair and maintenance. We need people to fill in semi-regularly or be on call in the event of regular mechanics calling in. Coordinators: We have several positions open in coordinating the various aspects of our organization. This is also volunteer work, but would provide experience for a student looking for future work in the non-profit sector. We log our volunteer hours and they look GREAT on a resume! I can't stress enough that these are VOLUNTEER positions, we do not pay our staff. But if you love your community and believe in promoting sustainable living then I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship! Our volunteers get free use of shop space and tools and after 32 hours of logged work time we also offer incentives on bike related "stuff" (parts, tools, etc.). If any of this sounds like something you would be interested in, e-mail volunteer@bikefarm.org and tell us a bit about yourself! You can visit our website at www.bikefarm.org and feel free to stop by the shop and check us out. We are open Saturday 11-6, Sunday 12-4 and Monday 4-8. We look forward to hearing from you!
